About this orphanage:
The Yihuang orphanage opened more than 60 years ago. In 1993, they began caring for the babies in the old baby room building. This facility contained four baby rooms on the second level and was utilized until early 2000, when the babies were moved into the current white building. The old building is now used as apartments for the elderly.
    Before 2000, most children found in Yihuang were adopted through partner orphanages such as the Fuzhou, Nanfeng, and Jianxin orphanages. In 2000, the Yihuang orphanage begain participating in the interantional adoption program.
   The Yihuang orphanage has been utilizing foster families almost from the beginning. Each child spends a week in the orphanage after arrivnig before being placed with a foster family. The child then returns to the orphanage two weeks before adoption.

Director:
The current director is Zou Zhong Jian, who became the director in May 2012. The previous director was Liu Wen Jian, who served from 2008 to 2012. From 1995-2007, the director was Zou Chui Lin (no relation to the current director).
